September 12, 2007 is the Ethiopian New Year. The date coincides with Sept. 1st 2000 in the Julian calendar, the first modern calendar used in 45 B.C. and still used in Ethiopia & the Coptic Orthodox Church worldwide. Based on that calendar, this coming September 12th is the Ethiopian millennium. As the countdown to the millennium approaches, Mesob Ethiopian Restaurant is pleased & honored to present a celebration to mark this important event.
